Mooshi Bakes and HVV reviews!

The Boyfriend and I have been going mad over the food along the East Coast Road/Katong stretch! We were there last Thursday for my Korean glass noodles, took a short walk after dinner and discovered even more goodies! :O Headed back on Saturday again to try Mooshi Bakes, which I think is a new leg of the Awfully Chocolate group!

Bought a cream cheese raisin bun and a cream puff while waiting!

The cream puff was kinda disappointing really. I half expected the cream to be like Beard Papa’s cream puffs but no, its really CREAM. Whipped cream. Ugh. And I think ours had WAYYYY too much cream. No pics of the cream cheese bun coz it didn’t photograph nicely andddd, I think Barcook’s cream cheese raisin buns way better

Ordered a dessert crepe! Poached pears with cream cheese (omg so much cream… no wonder I’m fat ) and it came with a huge scoop of ice cream as well. Not too bad but this made me miss the Nutella crepe I bought off the streets of Paris!

Also had a Chicken pie which was average. We stupidly paid $10.90 to have it served on a plate with salad, instead of $6.90 if we took away! And the salad wasn’t anything to shout about

Overall an average dining experience, would have expecting much more from a somewhat Jap-ish bakery!

On a random Sunday night! Went round the whole of Singapore searching for Mango sticky rice at 9pm and everywhere was sold out/closed So I improvised and did a fruit platter and boiling store bought tang yuan!!

On the shopping front this week;

Got my HVV items in the mail ystd! The Drummer Military Dress is really, really, really worth its price!  Really thick, quality polyester nylon used, the kind I would expect from a good trench dress and a satin inner lining!

Sparkle Asymmetrical Dress in Dust Lilac. For once I wld say the colour is true to HVV”s pics! really lovely shade of lilac grey Chiffon used is slightly rough. Embellishments are really pretty and tightly sewn on so no worriess about losing beads along the way!

Also got lovebonito’s tazelle tank (S) from backorders! Loveeeee it, one of the few white tops that aren’t sheer (above nude underwear of course!)

Wore it with Jaynelles‘ Tara Denim Polka Dot skirt in Mid wash! Last piece left in all colours!

In Arianna Shift Dress in French Rose, this was our very first manufactured label (although it wasn’t launched first), inspired by BCBG! Our friends all kept a piece. And I kept 2. Oops.

Imelda Pleated Dress in Crimson (M). My favourite, favourite, favourite work dress on Mondays to chase away the blues!! Love how lightweight and silky the material is!

Thursday night date with The Boyfriend

Went to East Coast road for Korean again! First time being Valentines’ Day   The side dishes at Auntie Kim’s at Upper bukit timah road fare much better but this wasn’t why we were here anyway!

THIS was the reason why I had to come back! Stir fried glass noodles with veg, mushrooms and beef! So so juicy and chewy!

Ordered pork bulgogi this time round and I think the sauce they used was too gelat for our liking. Had a bibimbap too but The Boyfriend got them to mix it for us -.-” so I didn’t take a picture. It was good though! But really, what could go wrong with bibimbap? hehe

His I-have-an-ulcer-but-I’m-still-eating-spicy-food-with-you face! Awww <3

Anddddddddddddd, on the shopping front this week,

Got this tie-dyed maxi from F21 last night! The Boyfriend hates the colour and the length and everything about it though haha.

Also got HVV’s embellished romance tunic from sales! was surprised at how lightweight the material is Sizing wise, its perfect for me may alter the length to make  it a mini though! Embellishments are well sewn on too!

Last week was tough, both emotionally and work-wise. I’m glad its over though.

Weekend updates! Satisfied my dimsum craving at Geylang 126, my third time!! Love the food there so much even though we always end up ordering the unhealthy stuff. Which is rare coz I don’t quite like dining at such places, lol.

Just received lovebonito’s Gayle Skater Dress in Gold, size M today! As you can see, its too loose for me I overestimated my size, even being advised by Rach on twitter on which size I shld get! Material wise, its really good as usual, lace is soft and not scratchy at all. Very weighted but not hot! Prob will sell this off or exchange to size S! Had a super insane but awesome weekend rushing stuff for Jaynelles, spending time with The Boyfriend and stuffing my face to death. Took off from work on Wed and Thurs so it was an ultra long weekend for me. Imagine how bad my Monday blues were this morning!

Starting with Maundy Thursday,

The Boyfriend missed his Double Chocolate Blackout cake so off to PS Cafe @ Dempsey we went! He loves chocolate so much its his #1 comfort food! :S

The face of SIN. This time, I only managed a quarter of the cake I think their standard dropped coz the cake wasn’t as moist as it was before.

Finally, finally, finally made time for some Jaynelles lovin’ on Friday!! And look what we found!

Saturday, dinner with The Boyfriend at The White Rabbit at Dempsey! (yes I went to Dempsey twice in 3 days, lol)

Had the Lobster bisque for starters, I don’t quite like seafood soups but he loved it! I really enjoyed the onion bread and ciabatta though!

For our mains, I had the 48 hour Braised Short Rib, so so so damn tender and melt in your mouth; he had the Stuffed Boneless Quail, loveddddd the foie gras stuffing!!

On the way to our movie, he tried to impress me with his new built in MP3-DVD-TV-internet-GPS system, but the only thing I found fascinating were the cyan lights, hahah!

Until I clicked on the facebook icon!! (But I didn’t use it coz it was too troublesome to type)

Girlfriends

Met up with the girlfriends on Tuesday for dinner at Yomenya Goemon! been wanting to try ever since I saw it at i12 Katong, but the boyfriend went ahead and had it with his friends

Ordered 3 half and half sets to share so we had 6 pastas!! Favourite was probably the mentaiko (bottom right) and the tomato based ones funny coz I’ve never liked tomato based pastas!

The set also came with desserts Cheesecake with icecream, Matcha Redbean pudding with green tea ice cream, super full of green tea powder and pretty bitter; chocolate cake with ice cream! Thought I’d enjoy the green tea dessert the most but the cheesecake got to me instead!

On the shopping front this week:

I must confess I haven’t been a good girl After the maxi and dresses I got last week, I went ahead and got myself a black embroidered jumpsuit, a charles & keith bag I’ve been lemming for for 2 weeks now and the 2 dresses below hahaha. And my f21 spree stuff arrived. If my wardrobe was female, she’d be a happy fat girl. Lol.

Lovebonito’s Gabriella Dress in Bold, Size M. Overestimated my size this time and its super duper loose at ptp for me! I definitely can’t wear it as a tube dress. Probably selling it to get a size s! Anyone selling it please let me know! Prints are gorgeous though!! And material is fab as usual, skirt’s lining is soft and comfy

TTR’s springfields maxi in green Super love thisssssssss!! The Boyfriend hated it when he saw it though but I’m gonna make him love it. You hear that bomsie?? hahaha. its georgette chiffon, which I didn’t expect to be rough lol. But loving the prints andddddd the fact that I won’t be sweeping the floor with this one, plus the waist band isn’t uncomfy!!

Onto the 9th.

Some nights, I just want to stay home with a pizza, watch a movie and cuddle.

Some nights, all I want to do is snuggle in your arms, and talk about our future together.

Some nights, I want to stroll along a quiet beach with you, hand in hand.

Most nights, we end up having fattening dinners, shopping, watching crap movies, and crashing after that.

But I just wanted to say, thank you for being my pillar of support, for your big beary hugs and never being too busy for me.
