It’s been a month since my last post! Been enjoying myself at work and after-work activities keep me so occupied, the only things I want to do when I turn on my laptop at home is to online shop. Heh. Been doing bikram yoga 2x a week for the past 3-4 months and I can feel my flexibility and back strength improving 🙂 Expensive hobby but so worth it!

Btw, is it just me or has WordPress’ blogging layout changed so much its 10x more tiring to type out a post now?

Anyway, Christmas and New Year’s Eve were well spent with the girlfriends, my favourite boy and family 🙂 I’ve been so blessed in the last month of 2012, I cannot ask for more. Praise the Lord 🙂

Lunch on Christmas eve with colleagues, wanted Au Petit but we couldn’t make it in time so we headed to another french place near office! 5 women = insane indulgence in desserts :O

Overloaded on French food that weekend because the very next day, the family had dinner at Bistro Du Vin to celebrate the lil sis’ birthday!

Foie gras and the salad were excellent! The rest were good too but I was really gagging from all the french food i had :S

 

New Year’s eve, we partied at home because dad’s birthday is on the 31st, sis’ on the 30th and aunt’s on the 1st! Plus many more you see in the picture who have their birthdays within 1 week of the New Year 🙂 Loved the cake!! Tasted meh though hahaha.

And in my usual disorganised fashion, here’s what I spent half of Christmas day doing 🙂

Karaoking with the girlfriends till 3am and we did a champagne brunch!!

Not forgetting ze Boyfriend who picked me up all the way from Pioneer (hugs!) Did our Christmas shopping and had dinner for the first time at Sun with Moon. I’M SO GOING BACK FOR THE TOFU CHEESECAKE AND THE HOT POT RICE!!

And now that life is back to normal (haha, i kid) we celebrated 1.5 years together at Open Door Policy. Food was very average though and we ended up heading to Holland V for desserts.

And just a teeny weeny bit more of what I’ve been indulging in – SHOES! (along with all the dresses I’ve been buying.. think its been about 20 pieces since mid dec :O ze boyfriend is gonna kill me when he sees this)

Tweed captoe flats from gojane bought with my colleague, Nude pumps from easyspirit.com bought with muffs (only coz we tried them on at Isetan and they were oh so comfy but outta sizes! AND WE FOUND THEM HALF PRICE ONLINE!!), and random flatform sandals (sounds so unglam but they’re so cute hehe) from F21 online just because I felt like it! Also ordered a pair of fake tory burches from gmarket with a colleague hahahaha.

I think I’m pretty much settled for CNY! and not forgetting the fact that i’ll be heading to HK for the umpteenth time in 2 weeks! It’ll be my first overseas trip with the girlfriends and I’m super excited 🙂

Here for a quickie because I’ve been so tied up at work and haven’t had the time to exercise the whole week! Meeting The Boyfriend for gym in abit to lose some of those fats I’ve accumulated from sitting and eating too much!

17 months and counting!

The Boyfriend and I turn 17 months today and I honestly never thought we’d make it this far. I make a terribly demanding girlfriend and he’s started to adopt some of my annoying habits, so we do get on each other’s nerves too much sometimes. Anyhow, I’m super thankful for him, even though he’s alot less tolerant now 😦

Dinner and shopping date with J on Fri 🙂 Had an awesome time bitching, being picky about stock at suppliers’ and then trying on a ton of things at H&M and not buying anything in the end. To more! 🙂

Needed to shop badly mid-week so I did some F21 🙂 My first time trying out shipping to SG – I used ComGateway and there’re so much discount, ordering alone is so much cheaper than spree-ing! 🙂 Didn’t get the last skirt though even though its so so so gorgeous coz it’ll be too long on me. Woes of being Asian!

Trip across the causeway last weekend with The Mother and The Boyfriend!

My Greedy Mother insisted on having a chocolate banana crepe!

Dinner at Tang ShiFu at KSL. Sesame buns were pretty good but the rest was pretty meh. Their food is meant to be healthy and herbal but the stewed pork was so oily and fat 😦

This mini trip was by far the most traumatising because after we left the shopping centre, The Boyfriend hit a pothole and his back wheel started leaking air. We drove to the nearest gas station for the air pump, only to spend an hour trying to pump air into a tyre that didn’t seem to be inflating! It wasn’t till a fellow Singaporean came along and realised that his entire back rim had CRACKED :O :O So we ended up driving at 20km/h back across the causeway then waited for a tow truck. Our first time getting towed and we both fell asleep because by then it was 2 am. THANK GOD everything is fine now though, expensive lesson though!

The Modern Minimalist

Well, minimalist in terms of fashion. Not food. Hah!

Was craving liu sha baos on Wednesday so The Boyfriend took me to Man Fu Yuan at Intercontinental Hotel 🙂

Wanted to order so much more but thank goodness the waitress stopped us! Both of us were so so so stuffed after 6 liu sha baos, a giant plate of XO seafood fried rice and a roast meat platter! We each had 3, the first two were pretty good, the third started tasting a little too sweet everything in moderation! Fried rice was DA BOMB.

This the season to be clad in black, burgundy and LEATHER!

Parker Peplum Tops in Burgundy and Black Leather! Made of quality pleather, its probably the most well-cut peplum top we’ve sold. OF COURSE i had to keep a piece for myself! Paired with Ultra Stretch Jeggings in Indigo & Sky 😉

So super stretchy and comfy I HAD to keep a piece. and that’s coming from someone who NEVER wears jeans. Not even in cold countries. I opt for leggings instead. Plus points for fully functional front and back pockets!

Loved this Zara jumpsuit so much but XS was so huge it looked like pyjamas on me. In comes our version of this gorgeous piece!

In Navy, White and Black! with fully functional classy gold buttons and side pockets! Made of thick crepe! Model is 168 and it ends slightly above her ankles! I’m about 1.62 and it ends at my ankles 🙂 can be hitched up or down at low waist!

P.S white piece is lined at the bottom so no worries about sheerness! 😉 Do note that the cutting for the white piece is very slightly smaller due to the lining!

Lace sleeved tops in creme, nude pink & black! Fully lined and made of sturdy lace that won’t catch on to your bag and tear! I kept a piece in nude pink 😉

Kept this as well! its a corduroy suedish fitted skirt in reptile print hehe 🙂 Avail in sizes S and M. Model and I both wear an S for this piece, cutting runs slightly bigger and its extremely stretchy as well! Pricing for this will be on the high side due to the quality of the material used!

Date night with The Boyfriend last night after running a few errands 🙂 It’s been ages since we last caught a movie and sat down to dinner together!

We usually have our shoots in the afternoon because everyone wants to sleep in. This time round though, we had our shoot in the morning! HUGE blessing in disguise because it poured like crazy in the afternoon!

Our model kept the piece in white 😉

It’s inspired by my Stradivarius piece; J & I were incredibly amazed by the effort our supplier put in to finish this 99% similar replica. And i say 99% because the eyelet cloth used is so so so much prettier than my original piece! >.< Its made of a thick, comfy eyelet cotton and fully lined with cotton 🙂 The whole piece is very lightweight but not sheer at all, what’s not to love! 😀

Also coming up: Ombre minis in ocean & sunset! kept the sunset piece for myself 🙂

A dropback dress in polyester-rayon (I think?), super gorg royal blue! Our model grabbed a piece for herself! If blue’s not your colour, wait for the black & magenta-purple version coming up 2 launches later! 🙂

Both the blouse and white tweed skirt (Sizes S&M) will be up for sale! Me kept both, especially love the tweed skirt because its an exact replica of a white zara skirt that J has! Its made of a super soft non-scratchy tweed with brass detailing and neatly frayed ends, nothing but love! And the blouse is really cooling + the gold details are so subtly party-ish and it has a dipped hem too 🙂

J’s piece was used for shoot with our sold out Tatler Tops and we received several enquiries on it! I just knew I had to bring it in when I saw it 🙂

Mixing and Matching is my latest hobby

It’s a rainy Saturday afternoon and I’m cozying up at home watching my 2nd round of Lie To Me Season 3 🙂 Thought I’d share more snippets of what’s coming up on Jaynelles next week!

We love our whites and pastels (Esme comes in powder blue too) with loads of nudes, gold and pale pink lippie! 😉 Did this catalogue all by myself! One of the things I love about doing Jaynelles – I learn something new everyday 🙂 My photoshop skills aren’t that good so this took me 1.5 hours!!

And this took me 10 minutes to put together with Polyvore, haha 🙂 How I would wear Ganache Peplum Dress – with more gold, sexy caged heels anddddddddd RED nail polish! 😛

Missing The Boyfriend

It’s raining and I’m missing The Boyfriend who has been gone for the past 6 days. He’ll be back on Thursday though but he’d have missed the public holiday tomorrow! Have been keeping myself properly occupied with bits and pieces of Jaynelles and meeting up with friends 🙂 Was planning for a Happy Hour afternoon at Mortons with the girls tomorrow and my best girl friend was puzzled over the fact that I never seem to hang out with The Boyfriend anymore, only to quickly realise after that he’s overseas :p

This weekend was a good one though! Caught 2 movies – SkyFall and Ah Boys to Men. Both of which were rather crappy but guess which was crappier? Haha amazingly NOT the local production 😉 I do adore Daniel Craig’s role in all 3 Bond movies while The Boyfriend insists no one does a better James Bond than Pierce Brosnan!

We won’t be launching a new collection this week in preparation for next week’s super awesome launch – featuring J’adore by Jaynelles Esmé Eyelet Dress, another of our lovingly manufactured labels 🙂 Customers can expect only the best quality and cut when it comes to our manufactured labels! We especially manufactured a new Jaynelles label for it too 🙂 Can’t wait to take photos of our model in it this weekend!

Have been mad busy the past week what with The Boyfriend’s birthday weekend and our bazaar at United Square over the last 3 days! Thanks for all who popped by, we know we weren’t easy to find but we hope you managed to score a good deal! 🙂

So here’s bits and pieces of last weekend’s staycation!

The Boyfriend wanted a beach holiday but he didn’t have enough leave so I put on my thinking cap and booked us a room at the Sentosa Resort and Spa! We had a pretty good day relaxing by the pool 🙂

The resort had free bicycle rental so we gave it a shot, only to come back after 10 minutes because it was too far to cycle anywhere! It also happened to be the Halloween weekend so Sentosa was mad packed everywhere 😦 We ended up having take away Chilis by the pool for his birthday dinner!

His cake surprise after soaking in the humongous bathtub! I chose Coffee bean’s granola cheesecake and a chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate! Didn’t get a proper birthday cake coz he’s so diet conscious these days

Headed back to Sentosa after driving around Singapore aimlessly. The lousy gf that I am didn’t plan anything for his actual birthday hahaha so we ended up cycling around Sentosa and had pizza for dinner! 🙂

Say hi to our new model, J!

First up, a fitted floral dress 🙂 we loved the prints on this one so much, we just had to bring it in for you girls! Its made of a comfy stretchy polyester cotto and with its 3/4 sleeve, its perfect for work! Our model kept a piece for herself!

If you liked Torres and Jaegar Structured Dresses, you’ll love this Dash of Blue Structured Dress for sure! The print is tons more gorgeous in real life, please please please look at the close up during the launch, hints of blue paisley against a monochrome background 🙂 Made of slightly structured cotton and fully lined with satin-polyester, the dress is super lightweight and feels good on the skin! My cousins and our other model grabbed a piece each when they saw it!

A classic light wash denim shirt with a twist! Tribal printed shoulders 🙂 This sold so so so well at the bazaar I had to run back to my suppliers for restocks for tomorrow’s launch! Layer over a tank dress, a white tank with shorts, or dark denim cut-offs. Hehe personally I love the denim over denim look 😉

The Little Black Dress! With contrast piping, and a soft spongey quilted body! This dress is so so so comfy to wear 🙂

J’s favourite piece of the collection! An ombre shift dress for our precious office ladies! 🙂 It isn’t often that you find a non-sheer white base, beautiful sleeveless shift that’s a good length for work so grab this ladies!

For the edgy! This is a Miss Selfridge inspired piece 🙂 It was retailing at almost 100 if I’m not wrong. Hugs the curves at all the right places!

can’t live without peplum!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

Peplum tops make a comeback in baby blue tweed! 😀 Unlike most tweed clothing, this tweed is soft, and on top of that its fully lined with sateen!

Portia leather clutches were well received previously so we decided to bring in more bags 🙂 These are made of a buttery leather with suede lining and they come with an additional adjustable strap, functional zips and make up pouches in the same colour! I kept a piece in blue for myself 🙂 These were a favourite at the bazaar too!

Denim

I’m back again! On Firefox this time! WordPress decided to be friendly on this public holiday so here I am with a mini update 🙂

Went for an intro to GMAT session last night with The Boyfriend before dinner and it overran by 45 minutes 😦

Insomnia caught up with me last night so here goes…..

Fall Collection: Monochrome Breakthrough will be launched tomorrow night at 8.30PM on Jaynelles! This collection was meant to be a full monochrome one but I changed my mind coz I think our customers are pretty colourful pple, aye? Please prove me right!

So here’s what’s up for tomorrow night’s launch!

Floaty shift dresses in black & white with gold & silver highlights! Love the subtly sexy sheer sleeves 🙂 I personally love and kept a piece in white!

And lookie lookie at what I found while randomly surfing the net! The designer’s name has slipped me though >.<

My 2nd favourite in the collection – A full crochet blouse in Matcha and White 🙂 This is probably the prettiest top we’ve brought in so far, and the highest quality too. It’s made of a sturdy flower patterned crochet with a soft cotton lining! LOVE. Our model kept a piece in Matcha and I kept both colours!

Its gonna be a tad pricey for a top though because the workmanship + material + cut is impeccable. Quality guaranteed 200%, even my mom was impressed!

And we’re finally onto denim! I’d wanted to bring in denim since half a year ago but never managed to find the perfect denim shirt/dress. The denim was either too scratchy (probably like the regular blogshop denim shirts) or the dress was of a weird cut. I couldn’t find a proper wash that I liked so when I found one at NewLook, I willingly coughed up $70 for it!

This dress has a skater cut, almost like Dahlia Skater Frock 🙂 I especially love the fact that the buttons down are all functional AND the collar!!!!!! And the wash, its perfect, not too light 🙂 I feel dark washes are only meant for the bottom, anything dark wash on the top looks too serious and even slightly auntyish haha! And I can’t stop raving about the material, its thick but soft, and not the slightest hint of scratchiness at all! Of course yours truly had to keep a piece!

Our love affair with The Little White Dress continues 🙂 This time with embroidery! Fully lined so its not sheer at all.

And tank dresses with silver cords! Perfect for work and party after 🙂 Comes in Matcha too. Our photographer loved the navy!

A silk blouse with twin breast pockets, this piece went through 5 bottoms and 3 locations before we ended up with the perfect outfit! Sleeves can be cufffed up or down! Our model kept a piece 🙂

I called this the Arabian Nights shift dress coz of its mystical prints, hehe. Love shift dresses like this one for the interesting print and loose fit!

And presenting the hottest print of AW’12, camou! Front buttons are fully functional, I wore it as an oversized top 🙂 Made of cotton denim, and its loose fit is so comfy and cooling to wear for those who dare! Hehe 🙂

Marmalade Pantry at the stables!

Been meaning to try Marmalade Pantry for the longest time after all the raves but the outlet at Ion is always full! The night before The Boyfriend left for his trip, we wanted to have a go at Open Door Policy but alas! They’re closed on Tuesdays. So off we went to Marmalade Pantry at the Stables 🙂 Really nice and quiet environment and good service! I had the famous crabmeat linguine; Changi V’s one is still the best albeit the higher price tag. The highlight of the night was definitely the Granny Smith and Stemmed Ginger Pudding with Salted Caramel ice cream! Soft and moist and for once I actually liked ginger in my food!

Sent him off at the airport the next morning, as a surprise I got him TBB’s croissants 🙂
